Rob
Bass, lead vocals and backup vocals
You know you've got to be good to play in a band called Bow Tie Lizards, and Rob's just the guy to do it. One of his early bands rocked North Florida as the Lizards. After playing bass with the Lizards, Bandage, and several other groups, Rob landed the bass spot with SonicBoom and lays down a big full rocking bottom end.
Rob showing his serious side as he locks in tight with the drums to push the tune out to the crowd. If you can't move to that beat, there's something seriously wrong. Just saying.....
You could say Rob's the kind of guy that likes to be fully involved in his work. Here he is being "involved" with a couple of his fans.
Mac "Sugar Foot" Smith
Mac is a true veteran in the music business.
Mac started young, and judging by his photo he's been studying and playing drums for a very long time. He has played with some of the truly greats. With over a thousand shows behind him Mac has played various types of music with a number of high performing groups. He has played clubs and tourist venues for more than 30 years and has shared the bill and played behind several national acts, played tiny juke joints and large music festivals.
He is a sought after drummer and is quite capable of meeting the group on stage and playing a great show the first time out. He adds both lead and backup vocals from behind the drums. Mac is a really outgoing guy but really comes alive behind the drums. And, according to him, he's not a bad looking guy.......that's according to him.
Mac Davis Drummer Emeritus
Mac was a founding member of SonicBoom in 2012 and put the Boom in SonicBoom during hundreds of shows. Unfortunately, as the result of an injury that occurred after a show, Mac has had to pause his music career. SonicBoom wishes him a speedy recovery and we're sure he'll be moving those drums around again in the future.
Pretty much all Mac ever wanted to do was play drums. His first musical instrument? A guitar, of course. But it didn't take long to trade that in for a set of ruby sparkle drums and Mac was on his way. Like most rock 'n' roll musicians Mac started out in his garage with local kids, but soon graduated to much bigger stages and rocking bands.
The Florida band Rage brought him to the edge of stardom with a recording contract and an invitation to Los Angeles to record and play with the top acts. Like so many rock 'n' roll stories decisions made along the way really dictate the full story. Mac and Rage stayed in Florida and truly rocked the state.
For the next 15 years Mac had an incredible journey with the Weekend Millionaires playing the rocking club scene with big stages and even bigger sound. His ride with the Weekend Millionaires saw him playing mega parties, cruise ships, large concerts, and opening for major acts. Sort of like living the dream for a rock n roller. But it didn't end with the Millionaires. Mac has thousands of hours on stage singing and playing drums and he put on quite a show from behind the drum kit helping SonicBoom rock the house.
